Hello, Welcome to my website. This site is all about the construction of a robot that is or will be designed to compete in the UK Robot Wars TV series. This robot is currently under construction as is this website. As it stands I have no robot as yet mainly because I am working on getting the electronic part working before I begin construction of the mechanical parts but as you can see from above I do have a design idea to work from. It will be a 4WD skid steer drive system probably using Go Kart wheels and Tyres .The speed controllers will be home made with lots of advice from the people of the Robot Wars Forum. The Batteries are 18Ah Kiels (I already have them), and am planning on making the crushing mechanism from a Starter Motor and the lead screw from a car jack (first idea) or hydraulics depending on how my scrounging goes. Current areas of the site that are active are Battery Charger (Details modifying a car charger for Gel Cells), Speed Controller, Basic Knowledge (goes through some electronic fundamentals) also any new additions will be listed on the What’s New Page.. The link to Modifying Starter Motors is currently blank but will be filled in when I do my next one (I have no pics of the first one). Please give me any feedback you can on my site as it is my very first attempt, also let me know if there is anything you would like me to cover that I have not done yet (I presume that in time most subjects will get covered).
